‘Real food and skilled cooking…’
… dinner is a 5-star taste experience. Good food is at the heart of this cheerful, informal place. Lloyd Kenny is the inimitable head chef whose unquestionably intelligent and gifted passion brings carefully-sourced ingredients to life.
The menu offers tantalising options; mull it over with an aperitif (one of 15 local Benromach malts maybe?) in the cosy bar. This is not frou-frou food; here, that style is shot dead. This is sophistication without pretence – or ridiculous price.
This is about real food and skilled cooking where flavour and pleasure are king. The clean-lined yet traditional dining room won the Real & Local Food Restaurant Award 2011. And most deservedly so.” -Gary McLean-Quin – SHA

Franklin’s (Lloyd’s christened name) is a small restaurant with only six tables.
When booking a table it is yours for the night. Our priority is for you to relax and enjoy the dining experience, and we ensure the meal you are served is prepared with the freshest ingredients, so we only shop and prepare for the reservations made and our guests arriving or staying in the hotel.
Each and every meal that is served in the restaurant is prepared and cooked by Lloyd, he runs his kitchen alone so you can be assured of consistent, good quality at all times. Reservations are essential at all times and with the increasing popularity of the restaurant it may be wise to book well in advance. We do however on occasion have openings due to cancellations so it is always worth making enquiries and we are always happy to take contact details in case tables become available.
Our A la carte menu offers a choice of at least six starters and around seven main courses, each individually priced and we try to ensure that there is something available to suit all tastes. The menu changes on a monthly basis to enable us to use fresh, local produce and is also updated on our website.
