Surroundings The district of Moray lies on the southern shores of the Moray Firth. It
extends southwards into the heart of the Cairngorm Mountains, the largest mountain range
in Britain. Due to the gulf stream in the Moray Firth and being sheltered by the mountains
from the prevailing south-westerly wind, the Moray area enjoys a milder, drier and sunnier
climate compared to the majority of Scotland.
Cluny Bank Hotel is situated in St.Leonards Road, at
walking distance from both the town centre and Forres Golf Course (18 holes). Our hotel
is nestled against Cluny Hill, and through our back gate you walk directly into the
beautiful woods of Cluny Hill, a home to deer and red squirrels. There are several walks
possible, for instance to Grant Park of Forres with its famous floral sculptures or follow
the track leading to Nelson
Tower. During the season this viewpoint is very popular because of it's magnificent
views over the Moray Firth.
