Pleased to meet you!
Your hosts are Lloyd and Julia Kenny who proudly took over the hotel on 27 June 2006
and we would like to welcome you to our home.We have
worked in the hospitality industry since being teenagers and we are looking forward
to the new challenges of owning and running the hotel.
We both come from
Preston in Lancashire and moved to Forres from Spalding in Lincolnshire,
where we owned and successfully ran a Public House and Restaurant for five
years. The decision to move came after the birth of our daughter Alyx
as we wanted to find somewhere to settle before she started school. The Pub
sold very quickly and we were viewing a few places. Lloyd came to view Cluny
Bank in February 2006 and fell in love with the place. We then started the
proceedings of buying the hotel without me even seeing it. Although I trust
my husband I had my reservations. We had holidayed many times on the west
side of Scotland and although it is beautiful, peaceful and quiet, the
weather can be quite wet, it is pretty barren and secluded in places and I
was a bit worried about being able to settle in a remote place.
My first visit to
Forres in May of 2006 put all my trepidations at ease. Coming of the A9 at
Inverness and driving Eastwards I could not believe how green it was, the
views and scenery were beautiful , the weather was stunning and the
roads are a pleasure to drive on.. I immediately fell in love with Forres
having litter free streets, floral displays everywhere, the peacefulness and
sense of relaxation, I could not wait to move.
Suffice to say since
moving here we have enjoyed every minute of it, there is so much within easy
reach of Forres and the weather has been absolutely brilliant (we have one
of the lowest rainfalls in Britain).
Anyway that is how we
came to be here. we are a couple who have alot of pride in what we do and we
are here to make our guests stay as comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable as
we possibly can.. We hope to see you in the future.
Look out for updates on the website as information
will be changing.
Best wishes
Lloyd and Jules
